Worthington, Saldana and the other actors behind these bizarre blue things, barely interact with anything that we, as an audience, actually view in the final production. The otherworldly features and surroundings we see are nonexistent to them. Instead they are hooked up to wires and machinery as they work around a studio space with dots on their faces, pretending to see crazy shit - as one can tell from this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wK1Ixr-UmM. So props to them for pulling off these roles; a bit more complicated than your average acting gig, but I'm sure the however many millions of dollars they raked was more than enough compensation.
